Description:

I’m a first-year phd student in Dr. Graeme Berlyn’s lab and am broadly interested in the physiological filters of tropical secondary forest succession.  To this end, I am working on a manuscript for which I need to krig climatogical data for Panama. I would like to be able to analyze the relationship of the historical climate in the natural distribution range of approximately 30 native tree species with their growth performance along a broad precipitation and edaphic gradient in Panama. Furthermore, I will need to look at land-use patterns to select potential research sites in the Azuero Peninsula and Panama Canal Zone in Panama.
