Description:
Qilian Mountains, one of the major mountain ranges in Northwestern China, has experienced rapid snow cover reduction during the past several decades, leading to serious risks for both local ecosystem and irrigated agriculture. This project will use MODIS datasets and SRTM data to quantify the change in snow cover and investigate the relationship between topography and snow cover change. Also, this project is going to study the effects of temperature and precipitation on snow cover in this region over the period.
