The GSP continued work on its mapping project grant from the Yale Institute of Biospheric Studies (YIBS), in collaboration with the YIBS Center for Earth Observation (CEO), for the creation of satellite mosaic images of the following countries and regions before, during, and after genocide: Cambodia, East Timor, Rwanda, Bosnia, Guatemala, Sudan and West Papua (Indonesia). Many images are now accessible on the enhanced GSP website, at www.yale.edu/gsp/maps. My objective is to spend time reviewing the existing satellite images looking in close detail for signs of human and landscape changes caused by genocide events.
