Description:

For over a century and a half there was intense industrial development along the Naugatuck River. The river came to represent the worst abuses of this nation’s aquatic ecosystems. During the past two decades there has been a decline in industrial activity on the river, combined with the implementation of the Clean Water Act and an increase in public environmental awareness. This project will develop a detailed landcover classification of the watershed to help identify potential sources of trace metal run-off during storm events.
