The Mastadon Project

Start Date:

Description:

The Mastadon Project is a large F&ES research project covering 17 watersheds in the New Haven area that attempts to integrate social science and hydrology. The current land-use inventory for these watersheds dates to 1985 and was devised for much more general purposes than that of the Mastadon Project. There have been significant and important land-use changes in some of these watersheds, and it would be useful to qualify and quantify these differences. Research will also explore the creation of hydrologic/land-use indices from the data.
