Description:

I am interested in continuing my investigation of measuring snow line elevation in Patagonia using remote sensing, a project that was begun in Observing the Earth from Space. I am testing and refining a method of plotting ice index versus elevation and pinpointing the area of the plot that represents the elevation at which the landcover changes from tree/bare rock/glacier to snow field. I would like to improve this method, test it on other snowy/glacial regions of the world and read up on the literature to see if this method is in use or if it is new.
