The ESA Rosetta mission lands on a comet!!!

Rosetta lander Philae on a comet
November 13, 2014

Yesterday the European Space Agency (ESA) successfully landed on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko and sent back a photo to prove it!  The Rosetta mission was launched 10 years ago and completed a very complex flight to make this spectacular achievement.  You really should look at an animation of the flight path and milestones here.

We can expect some great discoveries over the next several months. Some early surprises; the comet generates a noise and clay was found on the surface.

Check out the ESA Rosetta link below to learn more about this amazing feat of engineering.
