The introductory remote sensing class Observing Earth From Space will be co-taught this spring by professors Ron Smith and Xuhui Lee. Students learn how to manipulate satellite imagery to visualize the landscape and extract information from images for analysis and change detection. Lectures provide a theoretical foundation and weekly lab exercises provide practical experience working with software and imagery.
Lectures are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in ESC 110 and the lab exercise is held on Thursdays or Fridays in the YCEO Lab in ESC 119. The first lecture will be at 9AM on Tuesday January 13th and the first lab exercise will be held on Thursday the 15th or Friday the 16th.
