Start Date:

Description:

This project will be a time series change detection study, looking at 1-2 national forest parks in 4 case study countries and the forest cover change over time. We are curious to see whether any official government regulatory policies or “quid pro quo” arrangements between business and NGOs has had a negative or positive effect on forest cover in our case study regions. We will be using remote sensing data to look at deforestation and forest degradation changes at forest frontiers within national parks/ protected areas. This project is supported with funding from the Yale Center for Business and the Environment.
