Description:
I am a first-year MESc student working on a NASA funded project called Urban growth, land-use change, and growing vulnerability in the Greater Himalaya Mountain range across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. The PI is Karen Seto, and the Co-PIs are Alark Saxena and Mark Turin. Specifically, my thesis will be based on a pixel-level algorithm called YATSM (Yet Another Time Series Model) to classify long-term land use and land cover change due to urbanization, with a focus on the spatial distribution pattern of urban settlements.
