Description:

This project is a collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and an expansion of their work on the Coastal Resilience Project in new directions. I will be using their extensive GIS data and satellite imagery to develop a model for understanding how climate change and sea level rise affect land use planning strategies and financial (property value, tax and insurance) circumstances in several Connecticut and Long Island communities.

I am also working on a project with Marian Chertwo and Karen Seto to explore the connections between land use change and material flows, particularly on the island of Hawaii (this is the continuation of a project that has been ongoing for some time). I plan to work on this project throughout the spring and summer, as needed.
