Description:

Through a combination of remote sensing products and field measurements, my research intends to:

  1. classify different vegetation types in the DRC,
  2. identify and quantify human-induced deforestation and forest degradation
  3. quantify carbon fluxes based on different land uses and vegetation types, and
  4. build a model that links activities causing forest lost to underlying drivers and construct reference scenarios to determine the scope for emission reductions.
