Description:

The Monte Lema radar is a C-band radar located on the southern Alps in the so-called Lago Maggiore region. Using the data collected during the recent (Sept. - Nov. 1999) field phase of MAP, we’ll investigate the small-scale convection-triggering terrain features. The resulting statistical maps could then be stratified according to Intensive Observation Periods (I0P)s, stability, and wind speed and compared to model outputs.
