Start Date:

Description:

Encroachment into tropical protected areas by rapidly expanding urban centers is a constant issue for conservationists. These become “paper parks” without monitoring and management. Satellite images provide a look at these regions over time, that can be used to explore past practices with the goal of improving monitoring and manging these areas. This work will be a continuation of a research project for the class Observing Earth From Space.
