Description:
This project will supervised classification on Landsat images to highlight archaeological settlements found along the Niger River in the vicinity of Timbuktu. I have already carried out two field seasons at Timbuktu and have gathered training regions from surface features with my ProXT Trimble GPS. I can also use high resolution IKONOS images to select other training regions in ArcGIS and export those to ERMapper. At this moment I have two such IKONOS pan-sharpened images.
