Description:

An array of meteorological equipment (including a basic weather station, METEK Micro Rain Radar, tipping buckets, and water sampler) was deployed to provide meteorological data for the immediate area.  This information has a wide variety of applications, ranging from basic meteorological research to providing a context for the water vapor isotope measurement project.  In cases of unusual, uncertain, or questionable data it can be very useful to have a video record of atmospheric conditions.  Time lapse photography enables long-term monitoring of clouds and weather systems and provides an optimal time frame given the gradual nature of cloud systems.  A long term record of atmospheric conditions in the form of DVDs (due to their ease of use and large storage capacity) will facilitate future research of present meteorological data.
