Event description:

The November meeting of the Yale Remote Sensing User Group (RSUG) will be held on Monday November 7, 2016 at 5:00 pm in the ESC Classroom (Room 110).  This month we are holding a joint meeting with the new Spatial Collective group at F&ES to discuss drones and mapping.  Our speakers will be Ethan Miller and Ross Donihue, both new students at F&ES.

Prior to coming to New Haven, Ethan did extensive mapping in Panama using drones.  Anyone who has tried to find cloud free images of that region will appreciate the fact that drones fly under the clouds!

Ross has used his own drone to capture imagery, but has not used them for mapping the landscape.  He will bring along his newest drone and be looking for input from the audience on new ways to use some of these tools.  If we are lucky, he will also talk about his company Maps For Good.  This is a venture he started after leaving The National Geographic and before coming to Yale.

Snacks and drinks will be provided.
